The very first book I wrote and self-published received a glowing review. Sadly, it’s the only one.
Back in the day when I still wrote erotica, I published a book and listed it on Smashwords. It’s called The Man from the South and I wrote it under my erotica pseudonym Cassandra Lincoln.
I sold about a dozen copies and then… nothing else happened. A few times however, I received private messages from people asking me for instructions how to purchase my book. Apparently, the Smashwords app was not making purchasing easy, and in some cases, I lost the customer because it just wasn’t working.
You can’t ask for reviews if they can’t buy and read the book.
That’s why I ended up moving my book to Amazon where it sat, alone and review-less, for a long time.
Moving the book from Smashwords to Amazon
It’s not that I’ve forgotten my very first book, I just haven’t spent much time advertising it. I also found KDP and the whole Amazon process somewhat complicated and because I was writing that book under my erotica pseudonym Cassandra Lincoln, I got confused with some of the particulars. As I’m not a particularly tech-adept individual, I just let the whole thing fall off my to-do list.
