Premise

Midlife men (GenX, Boomer), heterosexual, looking for long term relationships. FWB or casual hookups are not part of their repertoire (to my knowledge, Tinder is not one of the apps they use).

Quote

We romance and nurture a relationship exclusively to get laid as quickly as possible in spite of how well we cloak our intentions through intelligent dialogue. The error of misjudgement is the clichéed Prince Charming which is a horrible fairy tale. All men are wired alike; some just mask it better by dressing it up with eloquence, chivalry and nice shoes.

Is it really a mask, the nurturing a relationship, the ‘getting through the romance part’ to get to the sex part as quickly as possible?

I suspect many men will say no as a means of defensive self-protection. But some of those men who say no will say so with at least a hint of trepidation. Are there nuggets of truth in this?

I’m attracted primarily to people who are well-read, well-educated, intelligent and able to pursue and maintain an intellectual conversation.
